Happy {Heart} Day!

Today was a simple, yet wonderful Valentine's Day! In the past, we have gone somewhere like San Antonio or Fort Worth for the weekend to celebrate, but this year we both had to work, and as you already know, Valentine's Day fell on a Monday. So instead, we went out to eat at Chuy's and spent the evening watching our favorite T.V. shows. Brent surprised me with the flowers pictured below, and then brought out his gift for Madison. He said he wanted to give something to both his girls! Cue: "Awe, how sweet!" I know, I know, he's kinda fantastic, isn't he?! :)

Snow!! Yes, it's a BIG deal here!

For most of you out there not living in TX, you get snow so much it might not be considered "fun," but this morning we woke up to a beautiful White Friday, and we were ecstatic! Of course everything shuts down as soon as the first flurry is spotted so Brent and I both got off work to be safe play!! Once we geared up in our ski stuff (make fun, but we still like to be warm) we headed out to his parent's house to play in the snow, Texas redneck style! No snowmobiles needed- we've got four wheelers!! Brent even took his snowboard out to be pulled by his dad on the four wheeler. So it is now official, you CAN snowboard in TX! We tried to make a snowman (I wanted to make a prego-snowwoman) but the snow wasn't sticky enough to roll up. Bummer, but needless to say we still had a blast! Check out Snow Day 2011 below! :)

Staying Warm

So the weather here is crazy! I know to all my northerners out there this is nothing, but we are freezing down here in TX!! Today the high was 25 degrees, tomorrow the low is 9 degrees, and we have rolling blackouts to meet the demands of everyone's heaters. The good thing that has come out of all this...I finally got Brent to make me a fire!! :)

Now if I could only get a fireplace in my classroom!!

5 month belly pics!

I'm technically a little over my half way point! Yay!! Here is my progress so far (I apologize for the lack of make-up) ;)

Her name will be...

Well, we have finally made it official!! We actually didn't argue at all on her name, so that made the decision making process very nice! We will probably call her "Maddie" most of the time...unless she writes on the wall with marker, then her full name will more likely be used! ;) (Of course, our sweet girl would never do that!) hahaha

We (and by "we" I mean my father-in-law) have started painting the nursery!!! I am SO excited about that! I don't want to reveal too much, but it will be pink and brown with no particular theme.

I have also finished registering, which was so fun and the most I have ever shopped without buying anything!! :) I have started looking at dates for baby showers and get simply giddy when I think of being that close to meeting our little girl!

It's a....

Today was the big gender reveal day!! We couldn't make out much of her face because she was curled in a little ball, but that did help us (and by us I mean the Ultrasound Lady) determine she is a she! :)

This is a picture of her cute little profile with her knees all the way up to her forehead!

Here is the proof (for the doctor anyway) that she's a girl! Us normal folk can't see a thing, but I guess that's why it says "girl." ;)

We haven't started picking out names yet, but I'll keep you posted with all our updates! :)

Belly Pics & Pregnancy!

So, I have been a major blogging slacker! I had a Christmas party that I forgot to take pictures at, and as I was packing away the last box of Christmas decorations, I realized I had not taken 1 single picture of the house! I am so mad at myself! I better get better at this taking pictures thing when the baby gets here!

Anyhow, enough of the anger and frustration, and onto more exciting things! The pregnancy is going GREAT! I seriously feel so lucky about how easy it has been (knock on wood since I'm only almost 1/2 way done). But so far I have had very little morning sickness (which is now totally gone) and have experienced little other "symptoms" of pregnancy. My baby bump really popped out over Christmas break which has been sad on my clothes but exciting for us to get to actually see that something's growing in there! Here are the belly pics up until now:

We have our next BIG appointment in a week- Tuesday the 11th- where we will be finding out if little June Bug is a girl or a boy! (Keep a prayer going for us that his/her little legs aren't closed). ;)

I'll be back soon with the great pink or blue news and to share my nursery ideas...that's the really fun part- for me anyway!
